Nov. 6–Dec. 7, 2008
“Superb artists both, Fischer and Davidman manage to pull off broad physical comedy, Marx Brothers–like repartee and even reading Yiddish poetry aloud with all the musicality it demands.”- Dan Pine, J.
TJT begins its 30th Anniversary Season with a revival of this award-winning play. Hosted by a pair of irreverent, lost Jewish comedians, the story follows a mythical “Last” Yiddish poet on a journey through his own past. In it, audiences will recognize all the elements that have made TJT synonymous with adventurous and powerful theatre: vivid characters leapfrogging through a landscape full of humor and deep emotion; music, giant puppets and dynamic physicality.
Musical Direction by local Balkan and Klezmer favorite Dan Cantrell
